Awkwafina

Awkwafina began as an American rapper and singer, releasing sly tracks that tackled topics like racial or sexuality with a humorous twist. In the years before she stepped into Hollywood the singer had the opportunity to make a few songs. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came from the trumpet. She also received Jazz and classical training before when she began to explore hip-hop as a teenager. In her studies, she studied journalism as well as women's studies, and was studying Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. After graduating, it wasn't until that she shifted her focus to music. After becoming famous on the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her debut album Yellow Ranger. This album also featured popular hits that went viral, such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour the city of New York Bitche$. The last track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC travel guide which was published in 2015. Apart from having published a book and a singer, she was also a professional as a performer. Alongside early TV shows that included Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough roles included Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
